Sledding is another popular winter sport, for playing this you are required to have a sled. It involves either going down the ice track or pulling up. Sledding is also used as a source of transportation in snow covered areas. Sledding came into the world of sports only in the 19th century.

Skiing is the also one of the most popular winter sports. This type of winter sports is full of excitement, and you can refresh yourself by playing this winter game, also due to its widespread nature skiing is made a part of the winter tourism. Generally skiing is done just for fun and not sport, it is one of the chosen games by not only by adults but kids also do enjoy the spirit of this sport. Starting with going from covering small distance and moving from one place to another you can become master of the sport. Alike with other winter sports it also requires proper sporting gear having proper guards. There are various types skiing people prefer, they are military skiing, Nordiac skiing, kite skiing, alpine skiing and cross country skiing. Nordiac style skiing bindings includes attaching at the toes of the skier's boots but not at the heels. Alpine skiing involves bindings that attach at both the toe and the heel of the skier's boot.

The common type of snowboarding sport includes freestyle snowboarding, alpine snowboarding, slalom, boarder cross. Snowboarding is a result of latest technologies emerging in the field of sports. It became popular only after 20th century, for this type of sports activity you are required to have extremely good skills and hard work is another factor considered during this sport. Snow boarding is done on the slopes that are covered with snow or on artificially made slopes.
Ice Hockey:
Ice hockey is a game that cannot be played by an individual alone, is played on the ice floor by two teams or groups, this game required a properly designed ice covered court or artificial hockey rink. Instead of a ball like in normal hockey game a disc is used in ice hockey game, each team is required to win points by doing goals as per the norms. A hockey team has more than 20 players but only 6 players from each side play at one time. Ice hockey is a combination of ice skating and hockey. It is generally played in three intervals of 15 to 20 minutes. It is more popular in western countries like USA, Canada, and Finland etc. These countries offer suitable places for the game to be played, but is also gaining popularity in other countries as ice hockey now can also be played on artificial ice court.

It is another snow activity and is generally categorized as a winter sport. Snowball fight is a part of some sport organizations. It does not require any court, the players throw snowball to each other, the basic aim of the game is just fun. Teams can play snowball fight; each team is required to hit the other team.
